Adopt-a-Beach™
Year-Round Program

You can make the Great Lakes healthier, and have fun doing it, by adopting a beach year round and committing to multiple visits per year.

How? During each beach visit you will:

• Investigate beach health: Answer questions that help identify possible pollution sources at your beach.

  • • Improve beach conditions: Collect litter, record  your findings on our standardized form, then recycle or dispose of the trash.

• Check the water: Investigate bacteria levels in the water using a simple water quality test. High bacteria levels can cause beach closings and swimming bans.

• Enter results online: Enter results into our Adopt-a-Beach™ online system.

Adopt-a-Beach™ teams are from all walks of life -- individuals, families, businesses and community groups. Join us!
